I would teach the safety rules that good digital citizens should apply when using technology.
For example, they should not give personal information to strangers, they should use the technology tools to construct and not to destruct, and also to respect other people's views.
They should not believe that what they read on the Internet is necessarily true, and they should use appropriate language when digitally connected.
I find one of the hardest things to get across to them is that everything they read on the internet is not especially true. This is a big leap for them, but so important.
